Hi, my name is Jo Herbert-Doyle and I have spent 30+ years exploring, studying and practising in the field of natural health and lifestyle medicine, all around the world. My journey has been a labyrinthine path, spiralling out from my fledgling studies in Eastern-inspired mindfulness and subtle-body/energetic medicine to traditional and clinical naturopathic practice and Western psychology and back again—this time, better informed and able to live more consciously and with greater holistic wellbeing.
Nowadays, I specialise in working with people who also seek more clarity—a deeper understanding and awareness of themselves and how to achieve greater wellbeing, balance, and/or acceptance in all aspects of their life.
My approach includes holistic lifestyle & mindset coaching, integrative arts therapy, yoga and meditation—using a creatively inspired mind/brain–body–transpersonal–ecological lens.
Why Holistic Therapy?
Holistic therapies support greater awareness of the mind-body-spirit connection—taking a bio-psycho-social-spiritual view of wellbeing.
Each person is viewed as a whole, rather than the therapist focusing exclusively on any named illness.
A holistic therapist blends traditional therapeutic approaches with complementary and alternative methods.
Originally from the UK, I have spent the past few decades living and working in various regions of Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong. Nowadays, I am based in tropical Far North Queensland, Australia.
Rather than take any single approach, I am informed by all my acquired learnings, lived and practice experience, and an extensive range of qualifications spanning yoga and meditation teaching, arts psychotherapy, health, life and mindset coaching, Reiki and subtle-body/energetic medicine, transpersonal kinesiology, naturopathy, plant-based living and health promotion. As a lifelong learner and committed to ongoing personal and professional development, I am currently studying a Master's in Guidance and Counselling with an emphasis on solution-focused and narrative therapies.
On a more personal level, I am an everyday yogi, a plant-based foodie and nature lover, a ceramic artist and street art fan. I am also unapologetically AuDHD neurodivergent and view the world and people a little differently to most!
To help you choose the focus of your session, I have created ‘themes’. They are not mutually exclusive in their approach as I draw on all my knowledge and skills and integrate them as required; however, it is a good place to start.
